mEET THE tOWNLEY cLAN
Creators of the KOLI CABANA
The idea for the Koli Cabana was born along the sand dunes of iconic Jones Beach, Long Island. Always excited for an outdoor adventure, the Townley Family were frequent beachgoers with three toddlers in tow.
When fun in the sun was finished for the day, the kids dreaded the ride home. Wearing wet, sandy bathing suits in car seats was uncomfortable and messy. Standing outside the Minivan, Mom improvised a solution by holding up a beach towel for privacy while each child changed. Clean, dry kids are happy kids and Dad appreciated not having to vacuum the car.
As the kids grew so did the adventures. The Minivan was exchanged for a full-size SUV. There were driving trips to Canada, the Carolinas and expeditions of the majestic hiking trails in New York State. Peter became a Boy Scout with weekend camping trips. John and the family traveled to lacrosse tournaments on the East Coast. These excursions at campgrounds and sports fields – with limited restroom availability - reinforced the need for a private space to quickly change clothes.
When Paige became a Sooner at the University of Oklahoma, the Townley Clan experienced NCAA college football at its finest AND the art of serious tailgating. Mom, a retail consulting professional with an entrepreneurial spirit developed at Wharton, saw an opportunity and put the kids to work.

Armed with craft store supplies and duct tape, the Townley Trio engineered the first prototype of what would become the KOLI CABANA…the removable vehicle enclosure that extends the functionality of your Minivan, Crossover or SUV.
Patent No US 9,834,951 was issued in December 2017 with a file date of October 28, 2016.
